Small-business question

Why does AI give bad answers?

By Rick Hesse ·

Short answer

The short answer

AI can sound confident while missing context, making assumptions, or simply being wrong. Treat a polished answer as a starting point: question it, add the facts it lacks, and verify anything important.

Where this fits in a real small business

AI predicts useful language; it does not own the business consequences of a bad answer. The person closest to the work still has to decide what is accurate, appropriate, and safe to use.

One useful next step

When an answer feels off, name the missing fact, rule, or example. Then ask AI to revise and show what it is still uncertain about.
